Inside the booth

What the Novaluxia booth was actually doing while people walked past it: the sign reading Beyond Shopping, Smarter Living, the QR table card, the demo phones and the one-on-one walkthroughs at the counter.

Visitors crowded at the Novaluxia booth counter with the app open on their phones

The booth had one job: get the Novaluxia app onto a phone before the visitor walked away. Everything on the counter pointed at that, from the big sign to the small QR card. This hub collects what we saw of how it ran.

The sign that did the opening line#

Beyond Shopping, Smarter Living, in large letters above the display. It is the line nearly every photograph from the booth happens to catch, and it works as the pitch in four words: a shopping app, with the shopping part made smarter. Visitors who stopped to read it got the rest from a person at the counter.

The table card, the QR, and the Novaluxia app install#

On the table sat the card: READY TO DISCOVER MORE? SCAN HERE!, with a QR code and a stack of brochures beside it. The card was the handoff. From there a team member walked the visitor through the download on the visitor's own phone, one at a time, from the Google Play listing or the App Store listing, then stayed for the setup. That is why so many booth photographs show someone holding a phone with a staff member leaning in.

If the app was already on your phone, the walkthrough still had a use. Account setup and a first look are easier with a person beside you than on your own at home.

Where the demo actually happened#

Not at the sign, not on a stage: the demo happened at the counter, on the visitor's own phone, with the team standing beside them. Some visitors came with the app already installed and wanted the screens explained. Others had never seen it and needed the download first. Both got the same treatment: a phone, a person and enough time to finish.

At its busiest the counter drew a small queue, and the photographs from the floor show it: heads down over screens while the rest of the expo walked past. That is the part the sign cannot do on its own.

The counter, and what left it#

The team handed out merchant recruitment material at the counter too. Visitors who had just finished a demo carried the blue Novaluxia tote bags down the aisles, and those bags turn up in more photos from the expo floor than anything else.
